Table tennis is a Commonwealth and Olympic sport that is really fast and cool to play.
Table tennis first became an Olympic sport in 1988 (Seoul, South Korea) and then a
Commonwealth sport in 2002 (Manchester, England).

A strange fact is that the sport was banned in the Soviet Union (Russia) from 1930 to 1950
because it was harmful to your eyes. The sport table tennis was first played in England and the
person who invented table tennis was J. Jaques from United Kingdom in Leicestershire.
Earlier on Table tennis Paddles were made from Cork, Cardboard, or wood, and covered with cloth,
leather or sandpaper.
Table tennis is also known in some countries as ping pong.
They wanted to name it the International Ping Pong Federation, but they could not do that because
of the trademark.
So they called it the International Table Tennis Federation.

Table tennis is a game when 2 or 4 players hit a ball back and forth on a wooden table with a
plastic sphere ball.
The rules are when the player that starts with the ball has to hit it in there side because the table
is separated
by a net so the game can get a bit harder for the players
so yeah after the they hit it the plastic ball the other player/players have to just keep it of the wooden
table
and if it touches the table twice in a row on your side it the other persons ball and then they start again.

Also, I found out something that will blow your mind. There is an 11 year old girl
going to the Commonwealth games from Wales and that would be quite special to go to
especially for someone that is very young. Plus my favourite soccer player is from Wales his
name is Gareth Bale.
I wish I could go to the Commonwealth games one day or maybe
even the Olympics, If I went to the Commonwealth games I would like to play table tennis
and If I went to the Olympics I would like to play soccer/ football.Guess
What I just found out that the 11 year old girl just won her first game for the commonwealth games.

I have a Table tennis table in my garage and I am the best at table tennis i my family...
except when my Dad slams the ball but besides that I am really good at table tennis so when my
cousins come round I asked them to play table tennis with me and I mostly beat them all the time
but when They learn to slam like my dad they will start to win so I hope that will never happen.
I am learning how to slam I sometimes do It to my dad and he is always really surprised.
I got the table tennis table for my birthday It was such a big surprise I was playing all night on
my birthday.

It is very weird because New Zealand don’t compete in the commonwealth games for table tennis
I think they are allowed but they choose not to so that is really weird so yeah that was pretty
weird because I was hoping that I could watch New Zealand play table tennis.

Also in the commonwealth games if you come third you get a bronze medal and a Borobi toy
with it’s t-shirt covered in bronze and if you come second you get a silver medal and a Borobi toy with
the t-shirt covered in silver and of course if you come first you get a gold medal and a Borobi toy
with a gold t-shirt.

To play Table tennis you need the develop a big and strong backhand and forehand
also you have to be really speedy with you hands so if someone slams it on you you can
quickly recover so you really need to watch out for those slams people do.
Also people do spins so with there bat they turn their bat just when the ball comes to
them and then when the ball to hit goes on your side it will bounce and then spin off the table
sometimes so that they get the point.
