For writing this week we have been working on a piece of writing about a worthy and admirable New Zealander and for this writing I picked a famous Comedian, Actor and Director..... Taika Waititi. I picked Taika Waititi because he has done many things for New Zealand and also because he makes some very very good movies I like to watch. I am going to show you the template I designed for my writing piece.

Kupe Timeline

This week for reading we have been reading a book about a legend call Kupe, Kupe travelled all around the ocean to name rivers and islands his own. He then found our country New Zealand and wondered if anyone was living here, he then realised that no one was living on the island only creatures like seals and penguins. This is what I have based my timeline on a did a presentation about. This is my presentation down below I hope you enjoy learning about Kupe and what he has done about our country.

Maths workshop

Hi guys i'm back with yet another blog and today I will be talking about what we have been learning in maths so lets get right into the blog. This week in maths we have been learning how to do place value, place value is a strategy that is very simple to help with your maths. place value is when you break up both of your numbers and then add them together and it will make the question easier to answer. This is my way of showing my understanding of place value and teaching others how to use the strategy hope you enjoy.

Communication

Today after swimming we have been learning about communication, communication is a good thing to learn about when it comes to collaborative task like PBL (Project Base Learning) because we have to talk to each other and tell them what you are doing. I think that communication is key to when it comes to group things and I think that when you do start to communicate with group members it helps your confident a lot and helps you to talk to others better.

Over the past couple of days we have been working on 3 different ways of helping this world. I think that I am a better thinker because I help to think of the solutions to help problems and also I think that i'm a good thinker because I am able to narrow the task down and help other people think harder and challenge them.

Collaboration Reflection

For the past 2 weeks of term we have been working on PBL ( Project Based Learning ) This time for PBL we will be working on a game for the SFOA 2020 fair but it will only be for the year 1/2 we are calling it the kid zone and for the kid zone my group will be making a game called  "Pick it Up" which is a game that you use tongs and chopsticks to pick up items.

I think that my group could have done more collaborate tasks because the boys would cut box's and paint while the girls would do there own thing without talking to the boys about it. I also think that we did a lot of good collaborative task together on the other hand like help paint and we also helped decide on different games we could have made for the fair.
