Poem about me !

This week for writing we had to make a poem about us and so I decided to it about everything that I liked doing like football, long jump and way way more. I know that writing poems is one of the hardest things that I have done for writing because you have to count the syllables every time you write a sentence and trust me it's way harder than it looks. Here it is...

Have you ever wrote a poem before?

Top team fun day!

On Friday we had an organisation come to our school called top team. Top team is full of great activities to do mostly with water. I had a great time with top team and hope they come to our school again some time soon. my favourite activity was the water bus. This was when you were in a line and the person at the start had water in their cup, the others behind the person at the front had to catch it in their cup which had no water but ended up having water in it afterwards until you filled up a bucket at the end of the line, it was a race against another team, my team was the blue team and the other team was the red team.

Tough kids- mud run!

This week for school we had a great opportunity to go down to South Brighton for tough kids. At south Brighton we did a mud run to fun raise for tough kids. It was a great opportunity for our school, everyone had so much fun including me. We had to do some tough obstacles in the mud like going under nets, inflatables and so much much more. Not only did i have fun and was a great opportunity, I found it very cool how we were doing this mud run to fund raise for tough kids.

Information Report

For writing this week we had to make a whole information report about a country that we picked so that everyone can pick their own so I decided to pick a country that my dad goes to often and one that is quite poor so I wrote about all the different things like national animals, Flags, sports and a lot more but I won't talk to much about it and I'll just let you have a look at the final product.

Attitude Presentation

In week 4 we had a person called Rory come into our school and teach us about puberty and what boys and girls both go through in puberty and what just girls go through and what just boys go through. I know that at the start of this we were quite uncomfortable but Rory help us out through the journey and it help everyone so much to learn what the body was going through.

Have you had Attitude come into your school?

Create Task

For the create task this week we had to make connections with an article that we read so I read about what is Ireland's favourite and most played sport is and then write what we wanted to know from the author So I ask what would you do if you reffed this game and then I had to research and put a link down to witch I found out my answer. Here is the final result...

Have you ever made connections with the text ?

Sports Rotations

For the past couple of weeks we have been doing sports rotations. The sports that we have been doing are Korfball, Lawn Bowls and Softball so now I will talk to you about the different sports. Korfball is a sport witch involves 4 players, 2 hoops and 1 ball you have to pass the ball to the other end of the court to score a point. Lawn bowls is when you throw a tiny white ball anywhere you want on the lawn and then you have to throw you big coloured ball and see who gets the closest to the white ball. Softball is when somebody throws a medium sized ball at you and then you have to try and throw it the further est to get more home runs so that you can win the rest of the game.

Have you ever done one of these sports?

Create task

For the create task this week we had to look at a poem that our teacher had shared with us and then with our senses create an image of what you thought you could sense and you were allowed to get two photo's off google and put them together and so that is what I did by some of my other friends completely made an original piece of art but I knew that I was no good at art so I just got two Images off google. This is what I have come up with...

Have you ever done something like this before??

Recipe day @SFOA

At the end of one of the weeks at school we decided to pick a country out of a hat witch I got Australia and then make a tradition food from that country you pick out was. So for a whole week we had to plan out what we were making a then write a step by step recipe so that if your classmates wanted to they could make what you made. Then the whole of Kaupeka could try everyone's food if they wanted to.

When it got to the making of the food I decided that I would make Kangaroo burger but they would be small enough for everybody to eat. Then when I was trying other peoples food it was amazing to try out other country's traditional foods.

Camp reflection

YMCA Wainui Camp reflection

Challenging: What I found challenging and camp was when we had to build our own raft and test it out in the water. We used long thick logs and our base and the we used barrels to help keep afloat the boat so that later on we could go on it

Learnt: The thing that I learnt most about camp is when I did archery, archery was very hard to do because you had to know where to put your hands and what string to pull back on. All together this was a great activity but you needed to learn lots of things before you could become a pro because I'm not quite a pro yet

Favourite part: My favourite part about camp was probably search and rescue because you had to go into the woods and bushes to find your buddy then you had to save them with a stretcher. This was my favourite thing right up until I ran in a bush full of toxic plant and I had blisters popping up everywhere on me but still this activity was fun.

Grateful for. This camp I was grateful for all the food that was prepared for us and very grateful for the chef that made everything "Mrs Rooney. I thank all the teachers and activity leaders because they were nice and chill on this trip and I loved everything that they did for me.

Have you ever been to this camp - YMCA Wainui ?
